Wedding Escort Card and Display Ideas

Wedding Escort Card and Display Ideas

Creative escort cards and displays are having their moment in the wedding industry. They have become a place for brides and grooms to personalize their wedding day while also making the transition from cocktail hour to reception seamless. Check out some of our favorite statement making escort and card ideas!

Seating Charts

Some couples say creating the seating chart is the hardest part of wedding planning, once you've nailed down each guests assignment, skip the traditional card display and create a unique display for your guests to find their table. Use this necessary but sometimes evil assignment as an opportunity to create a beautiful decor moment and get creative with something sure to wow your guests.

Use an oversized mirror!

For the romantic and elegant wedding, find a local rental company that has large mirrors that can be used as a seating chart. Hire a local calligrapher or DIY the assignments with a chalk paint pen. For weddings with fewer than 200 guests, sort the names by table number and for larger weddings list all names alphabetically so the guests can easily find their table assignment.

Display a poster or banner.

Keep it simple yet impactful with a banner or sign at the entrance to cocktail hour so guests know where to find their seats for dinner! Adorn the display with florals or decor that tie into your wedding theme.

Create a statement-making escort wall!

If you really want to make a statement, create a wall to display your guests' seating assignments. It could be a greenery wall, a repurposed piece of furniture, or even a custom piece rented from your local event rental company.

Card Ideas

Whether you select an escort card for the guests to take to their table or you have them placed at each seat, this personal touch can certainly help flow guests in the right direction and speed up the seating time post cocktail hour.

Use a personal object!

We love the idea of using an object with meaning to the bride and groom. Think seashell for the couple who fell in love at the beach, a cork for the wine-loving couple, or a luggage tag for the couple who loves to travel. You don’t have to break the bank to make a big statement and much of this can be DIY!

Create a picture-perfect card.

This could be a daunting task, but if you have a smaller wedding or just really want to wow your guests, include a photo print of each guest with the bride or groom and use that as their escort card. Have their assigned table number written on the back and be sure to wow them with the most thoughtful escort they’ve ever seen.

Sip and be seated!

champagne wall

For the guests ready to party, create a champagne or shot wall with escort tags on each glass. This fun feature will be sure to set the mood before dinner and drinks begin!

Use your wedding favor.

Fasten a tag to a custom wrapped cookie, a small honey jar, or a mini bottle of your favorite hot sauce so your guests can find their seat and collect their party favor at the same time! Display your favors somewhere prominent at your cocktail hour to be sure everyone collects theirs.

How will your display your seating assignments at your wedding? Share your ideas with us in the comments!
